I first ran across Farpoint playing at a little club in Columbia, SC several years ago. They were playing covers by the likes of Yes, Moody Blues, Pink Floyd, ELP and Rush, mixed in with some very interesting originals. I decided that this was a band worth watching. Now, 3 cd's later, they have become one of my favorites. This album fulfills the potential suggested by the first two. Great songwriting, tasteful production, and impressive musicianship are the standout qualities of this disc. I also love the attention to melody and harmony. The styles present are quite diverse, from the folky acoustic feeling of "O Lost" to the heavy aggressiveness of "Crying in the Rain" to the spacey keys of "Lux Universum." Then there's a great magnum opus like "Sojourn" that ties it all together. I give this album my highest recommendation to lovers of interesting, melodic music!
