Chris Squire Leaves The Syn

16th May, 2006

It only seems like yesterday that Chris Squire and Steve Nardelli announced that they were to reform The Syn with a new album and a follow-up tour. Well now they appear to splitting up again.

The announcement that Chris Squire is leaving The Syn follows a recent press statement that the band have postponed their up-comming "Syndestructible" tour of the UK, with no date specified as to when the tour has been rescheduled for, nor a reason for its cancellation. It would appear from today's announcement that the reason for postponement is in fact that Squire is no longer involved with the band, and as such they are a bassist short.

The Syn were originally formed in 1967 and, following an almost 40-year hiatus, they reformed in 2004. It took them some time, but eventually they release an album comprising a CD of old tracks along with a second disc of newly recorded material. It is currently unknown as to the status of the band, and whether they will recruit a new bassist to replace Squire.
